“We’ve really changed the culture at UGA. Students want to be engaged and understand the practical applications of what they’re doing. We’re renovating classrooms, redesigning courses, and training faculty so everything students learn leads directly to impact.”

Innovating Student Success

As a first-generation college student from rural upstate New York, Marisa Pagnattaro PhD ’98 understands the impact of an opportunity. That perspective shapes her commitment to creating learning experiences that help every student discover their potential and tell the full story of their education.

Her office leads initiatives that transform the student learning experience at UGA, from increasing AI literacy programming in classrooms to expanding undergraduate research opportunities. In 2025, the Office of Instruction launched the Comprehensive Learner Record, a digital credential that connects coursework and co-curricular activities to the professional skills that employers value. This development ensures that students graduate with a richer account of what they’ve learned and what they’re capable of.
