For Paige Carmichael, the division between teaching and mentoring is nonexistent. The first Black professor at the University to receive the Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorship, Carmichael’s scholarship focuses on neurological diseases common to people and animals. Her research interests extend into therapeutics and ophthalmic pathology.
