Claire Bunn
BS '22, GeneticsAs one of only 23 Americans selected for the 2022 class of Gates Cambridge Scholars, Claire Bunn will pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge, focusing on lung development and stem cell biology. She aspires to become a physician-scientist who runs a research lab and treats patients.
Claire came to UGA from Arkansas on the Foundation Fellowship, a full merit scholarship funded by donors.
The Foundation Fellowship has been paramount to my undergraduate experience. I am incredibly thankful for the scholarship and the community that it’s created, the financial freedom to pursue so many different opportunities both on and off campus, and the intellectual freedom to take risks. It’s a wonderful gift that I hope to spend my future paying back.
