Faculty Research
Innovation starts here. In our labs. Startups. Classrooms. Clinics. Everywhere we look, UGA faculty turn ideas into action.
We optimize cancer treatments.
We strengthen the global food supply.
We grow drought-resistant trees for biofuel.
We develop anti-viral drugs for influenza and RSV.
Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholars are top experts in their fields who secure hundreds of millions in research funding each year. Last year alone, the University welcomed four GRA Eminent Scholars to further UGA's impact on the world.
From bioenergy to cancer treatments, UGA faculty transform bold ideas into breakthroughs that shape the future.

Piloting Entrepreneurship
The Faculty Innovation Fellows pilot program uses faculty ambassadors to help amplify the Innovation District's mission, develop new ideas, and grow our talent pipeline.
This initiative equips our brightest faculty, entrepreneurs, and researchers to move their work through the industry pipeline—from concept to commercialization. Faculty Innovation Fellows connect researchers with industry partners and innovative programs, giving them a direct line to emerging technology.
A two-year pilot program through UGA's Innovation District tapped five fellows in the first year and will double by year two.
