Forging Ahead with Faculty
At the University of Georgia, hiring top-tier talent is just the first step.
WE INVEST IN FACULTY DEVELOPMENT.
WE DRIVE RESEARCH AND ADVANCE EDUCATION.
WE ENCOURAGE EDUCATORS TO TRANSFORM INTO LEADERS IN THEIR FIELDS.
From seed grants to training programs, the University helps faculty take the next big steps in their careers and their research. With the resources, mentorship, and freedom to think big, they are taking their ambitions to the next level.

Active Learning
Active learning is education that moves the needle. What started as lectures is now:
- Capstone projects that pair students with real business clients;
- United Nations Security Council simulations;
- Interactive AI technology where students use problem-solving techniques to uncover fraud; and
- Moot court practice where students learn to analyze legal issues in real time.
UGA’s Active Learning Initiative trains educators to push the boundaries of undergraduate instruction. This initiative has enhanced the learning experience for more than 78,000 students since 2018.
That momentum reached new heights in 2025, as UGA’s third annual Active Learning Summit drew several hundred attendees from across the country to share ideas, sharpen strategies, and foster collaboration.

Presidential Hiring Initiatives
UGA is making strategic investments to attract world-class educators and researchers who will transform our students, our research, and our world.
Since 2020, 97 scholars have joined the faculty through Presidential Hiring Initiatives in strategic areas, including Brain and Behavioral Health, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Electric Mobility, and Integrative Precision Agriculture.
With each new hire, we strengthen our ability to deliver transformative teaching. Backed by experienced educators, our graduates are prepared to lead, inspire, and change the world.
