An Accessible Education
This year, we reached a transformative milestone—endowing our 1,000th need-based scholarship. The result will be tens of thousands of students reached over decades as each endowed scholarship is passed on to the next generation.
Thanks to the incredible impact of initiatives like the Georgia Commitment Scholarship, more students than ever can pursue a UGA education with fewer financial barriers standing in their way.
Peer Learning Assistants
The power of peer support is immeasurable. UGA's Peer Learning Assistant initiative puts students who've excelled in their academic journeys in the role of leader, educator, and mentor. Students who were standouts in a course can return to help their peers with classroom learning, test preparation, and homework.
Since 2018, this program offered by the Office for Student Success and Achievement has significantly improved student comprehension in courses. The program was broadened this year to expand the number of courses with peer learning assistants available, with more than 200 peers in over 80 courses boosting student achievement.
Supporting Student Growth
From students' first day on campus, the Comprehensive Learner Record at UGA helps them map how every course, activity, and experience adds up to their career preparedness. This dynamic, visual tool helps tell their stories better than any resume and highlights their readiness for the world.
As they prepare to lead in their careers, we help our students stay on course in the classroom. UGA's Connect & Complete Persistence Framework proactively supports undergraduate students facing academic challenges by removing institutional roadblocks and offering personalized guidance. Our commitment to student success gives students confidence to establish their vision for their academic journey and beyond.
